Muhudu Maha Viharaya

Muhudu Maha Viharaya is located in Pottuvil, near Arugam Bay in Ampara district and about 220km from Colombo. The ruins of an ancient Buddhist temple belong to the pre-Christian era. Statues of the Buddha, King Kavan Tissa and Queen Vihara Maha Devi and Bodhisattva figures can be seen at this place.
